We hold 11 tournaments a year, 9 one day events within 120 miles of the intersection of I-30 and 360 and 2 two-day events (no mileage limit), in April, and in October.
The yearly dues are kept low; $20 for a single membership and $25 for a family membership.
Tournament fees are $10 ea. with 100% payback, + $1 that is mandatory and goes to the club, + $1 goes to the Top 10 tournament, (+) an optional $1 going in a Calcutta big bass pot. (Calcutta = 7lb + fish) Calcutta carries over if no one is successful at that tournament, $13 total. We also have an optional $2 big bass pot for each tournament that is paid out for that tournament. (That would make it $15). We average a little better than 30 anglers per event for the year. That is pretty good considering we begin the season in January.
No rule changes are allowed during the season, however, we do hold a rule change meeting in November. If you feel strongly about a rule change then this is the time to voice your opinion. No proxy voting allowed, you must be attendance at the November to have your vote/voice heard. This has eliminated much of the bickering and issues that could crop up.
This format works very well and the meetings usually last right at 1 hour. This allows time for what we actually go there to do, and that is talk fishing!
We always meet the Tuesday before the 2nd Saturday each tournament month Dickey’s Barbecue in south Arlington (southbound on Cooper between South Green Oaks and Sublet on the right hand side). Tournaments are on the 2nd Saturday each month. Check out our Web Page for tournament dates and lakes.
We have a strong, active, and dedicated club. We have a solid base of folks who return every year. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please drop us a line or come see us at a meeting, all are welcome!
